Lighthouse of Oakland County works to provide the support and resources that empower individuals and families to move from crisis to self-sufficiency.  More than 10,000 families a year come seeking emergency assistance and supportive services.  What began in 1972 as an effort to provide food and clothing from the back door of a local church has grown into a family of agencies providing a full range of services designed to move people from crisis and instability to self-sufficiency and independence.
